Sails of Glory: Artesian 1765 / Roland 1771 AGS SGN109A

The Artsien class included five French 3rd rate ships of the line, built at Brest to a design of Joseph-Louis Ollivier. They were armed with 64 cannons and had a designed crew of 570-580 men. They were armed with 26 24Pounder guns in the lower deck, 28 12Pounder guns in the upperdeck, and 10 6Pounder guns in the quarterdeck and the forecastle.

Artesian 1765 / Roland 1771
The Artsien was built in 1765 as part of a series of 12 ships of the line built to compensate losses endured by the French Royal Navy during the Seven Years’ War. The Artsien took part in the American Revolutionary War, departing in 1781. A fine 1/28th scale model of the ship was used to instruct Louis XVI in naval studies and is now on display at the Muse de la Marine.

This ship pack can also be used to represent the French Artsien Class ship-of-the-line Roland 1771.

Designed to be used with the tactical ship-to-ship game system created by Andrea Angiolino and Andrea Mainini, each Sails of Glory Ship Pack is a ready-to-play model, painted and assembled, 100% compatible with any other Sails of Glory game product.

In each pack you will find all you need to play the ship: a special base with gaming stats, a ship log and, a specific deck of maneuver cards. The ship base, ship card and ship log are printed on two sides – the game data of a second ship is printed on the back.
